Did You Get UI Benefits in 2007? Reporting Your 1099-G Information to the IRS
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) mailed Form 1099-G to all Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants paid benefits in 2007.
You do not need Form 1099-G to file your federal income tax return with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). You simply
report the amount of benefits paid. You can get that amount by calling Tele-Serv and selecting
option "2." The TWC Federal ID number is 74-2764775.
ENTER THE AMOUNT of benefits TWC paid you in Line 19 of IRS Form 1040, or Line 10 of IRS Form 1040EZ. See
IRS Instructions, page 24: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.pdf.
IF YOU DIDN'T RECEIVE Form 1099-G, TWC may have an incorrect address for you. Change your address online
at www.texasworkforce.org, click on Payment Request, or type in
http://paymentrequest.texasworkforce.org.
Or, contact a TWC Tele-Center.
IF YOU WANT A DUPLICATE Form 1099-G, call Tele-Serv and press
option "2" or call a TWC Tele-Center. Make sure that TWC has your correct address before you
request the duplicate.
IF YOU BELIEVE THE AMOUNT IS WRONG, please note that TWC enters the entire amount we paid you,
including overpayments.
IF YOU REPAID SOME OR ALL OF AN OVERPAYMENT, subtract the amount you repaid in 2007 from the
amount TWC paid you and enter it on Line 19 of IRS Form 1040, or Line 10 of IRS Form 1040EZ. See IRS Instructions,
page 24: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.pdf.
If you repaid an overpayment in a different year, please contact IRS or your tax preparer for assistance.
